Katja Moesgaard
Katja Moesgaard is a business strategist and advisor as well as a Board member in a number of organizations. She is the CEO of VisitDanmark and has been a prominent figure in the evolution of Denmark’s sports and culture landscape as former CEO of DBU A/S and COO of PARKEN Sport & Entertainment (& F.C. København) – as well as a current board member in several organizations in sports and culture.

Katja brings more than 20 years of experience in management, business and concept development, culture and sport, media and branding, as well as digital development. Not only has she left a lasting mark on Denmark’s sports- and culture landscape, but Katja is also a role model for modern leadership. She is an inspiration for ensuring that organizations keep their finger on the pulse of time and evolve in lockstep with consumer habits.
Her leadership revolves around on ambitious growth, diversity, digital development, and sharp data utilization.
Katja’s Leadership Path
At the age of 25 and with a cand.merc.jur in the bag, Katja became responsible for Nike’s retail marketing in Denmark before becoming the brand’s Marketing Manager in Denmark.
In 2000, she founded and became Managing Director of MEC Access Denmark (until 2007), from where she went on to become Partner & Nordic Managing Director of MEC Access until 2010 and finally Chief Client Officer at MEC (now Wavemaker).
In 2011, Katja took on the position of CEO of Dansk Boldspil-Union commercial department (DBU A/S), which she held until 2018. One of her biggest footprints was the development of DBU’s current brand platform, ‘En Del af Noget Større’ (‘Part of Something Bigger’).
Katja then took over the position of COO of PARKEN Sport & Entertainment A/S, F.C. København from 2018 – 2020.
She represented the Copenhagen 2021 WorldPride & EuroGames (2020-2021) as the board chair in 2020 and 2021, after which she became CEO at Brandr, a Mindshare and GroupM company.
Since the beginning of 2023, Katja has shifted her focus on impacting organizations from the boardroom and as a strategic advisor. She is currently the CEO of VisitDenmark, as well as chairing the Danish Women’s Division Association (soccer), alongside of being a Board Member at AGF A/S, SPOT Festival, VEGA, ID Identity, the Danish Foundation for Culture and Sports Facilities, and Fodboldfonden.
