2017: A new kind of leadership hits the market
The book Dreams and Details is published in Denmark and quickly becomes a bestseller in leadership and management literature. Written by Jim Hagemann Snabe and Mikael Trolle, the book introduces a revolutionary leadership model that breaks away from outdated management methods.
Instead of focusing on control and optimization, the Dreams and Details model emphasizes inspiration, reinvention, human potential, and performance – across both strategy and leadership.
Due to its success, the book is later translated into English and Chinese, sparking international interest in the model.
November 2018: The Dreams and Details Academy is founded
On November 1st, Jim and Mikael establish the Dreams and Details Academy with a clear mission: To spread knowledge of the leadership model globally and help leaders succeed in a radically changing world.
The Academy delivers consulting in strategy and transformation, leadership development programs, and inspiring keynote talks – all rooted in the model’s principles of unlocking the full potential of individuals and organizations.
January 2021: From Academy to Advisory - Idonea is Born
In late 2020, Mikael Trolle connects with Jesper Lok, an experienced board leader and chair of several Danish organizations. Jesper has been instrumental in developing the Corporate RESILIENCE Recommendations, which align seamlessly with Dreams and Details – especially at the board level.
Jesper joins as Vice Chair, bringing in deep expertise in governance and boardroom strategy. Together, Mikael and Jesper launch a new chapter: IDONEA – a holistic advisory firm focused on aligning boards and executive teams around reinvention, resilience, and long-term value creation.
From this point, the Dreams and Details Academy becomes the official educational arm of Idonea, with a dedicated focus on leadership training and transformation support.
2022: Expanding globally and publishing a new book
In 2022, Idonea expands its presence to the United States, marking a key step in bringing the Dreams and Details leadership model to a global stage.
That same year, Jim Hagemann Snabe, Mikael Trolle, and Jesper Lok co-author a new publication:
“Reinvention from the Boardroom – Practitioners’ Guide for Boards to Drive Continuous Reinvention.”
The book offers timely guidance on how boards can take an active role in navigating disruption, creating long-term value, and driving reinvention — not just when change is urgent, but before it becomes critical.
April 2025: Launching "Board Work" - a new board education
In April 2025, Idonea joins forces with Stadil Advice to merge their board education programs into one unified offering: BOARD WORK – Reinvention of the Boardroom.
Built on the foundations of Dreams and Details and Reinvention from the Boardroom, the program combines practical tools with strategic foresight to equip board members for today’s rapidly changing world.
The partnership brings together strong expertise in board advisory, content creation, and course delivery — with the shared ambition of setting a new standard for board education: practice-oriented, future-focused, and immediately applicable.
