Dreams and Details - A compass for leadership
We are in the midst of a decisive shift in how we understand and practise leadership. The classic hierarchical model no longer suffices in a world defined by complexity, pace, and constant change.
Tomorrow’s leaders must therefore navigate by a new compass: an inspiring dream, a clear direction, and the decisive details that turn ambition into action.
Culture becomes the organisation’s “GPS” — shaped by behaviour, relationships, and a strong learning practice — and reveals our ability to perform far beyond what the bottom line alone shows. Performance is built through clear role understanding, the training of abilities, and an interplay that lets potential unfold.
This calls for leaders who dare to let go without losing connection. Communication, trust, and psychological safety become the foundation for engagement and continuous development.
When the dream is connected to people’s need for competence, autonomy, and belonging, meaningful and results-driving engagement emerges. That is why the leadership of the future is less about mechanics — and more about meaning, mastery, and humanity.

Module 1
Organisational leadership
The first module is an introduction to leading the organisation in an unpredictable future. We put the Dreams & Details model to work in practice and look at how organisational structure, incentive models (performance, results, KPIs), and technology, data, and AI shape the basis for strong decisions.

In that context, the Dreams & Details framework is absolutely spot on in relation to our leadership philosophy. So when I saw that this was offered as an educational programme, I didn't have the slightest doubt that it was something I wanted to participate in.
My experience with the Dreams & Details model is that it was very useful and created extremely good results for us for continuously transforming our part of the company. I took a lot of valuable input home, but it also confirmed me that there are many things we already do right. The lecturers offered a high level of inspiration, and it was very interesting and informative to hear from external instructors from various companies about their experiences with transformations and change processes – both what they have been successful with and what they have not been successful with.
My participation in the program has also resulted in us taking a closer look at our DNA and culture in Technology innovation – based on the Dreams & Details framework. It must be an acid test of whether we do the right things, set the right framework and set employees free."
My reason for taking the course was that I was reading the 'Dreams & Details' book at the time and was very fascinated by the mindset of continuously working with transformations. And not least, I was enamored with the focus on the fact that you must constantly take care of your business right now, but at the same time, get it ready for the next 'season' to remain relevant in the market.
The program offered inspiring days about the Dreams & Details model, along with supporting materials that were easy to work with. The theoretical approach is strategic, but it is followed by something concrete and tangible, which is directly applicable. I like the link between talking both dreams and details: That you have big visions and dreams, but that you are also very insistent on having the details under control. The concept and thinking work well, and the many business cases we were presented with have been very inspiring regarding to the processes I am involved in.
The new perspectives and skills have clearly been of great importance to me as a leader responsible for a division and for the corporate strategy. I want to create a dream for both BEC and my division, and I have gained access to new knowledge that I can use in my daily work and bring into the dialogue about our future strategy."
